Vantaggi
- profit sharing (with various constraints) - paid on time, weekly - will train you in product knowledge - part timers can dictate availability - will honor school schedule - attendance point system is easy to game if desired - a 10% discount but must use payroll deduction
Svantaggi
- any ft or mgmt position must have complete open availability - must submit requests off 3 weeks out or more to have any chance of approval - mgmt work ridiculous schedules 10+ to 14hrs, close opens, no consecutive days off, must work weekends - over 400 separate policies to adhere to - multiple blackout dates through the year where no pto allowed - expected to do any job in the store if deemed needed - closers "aren't allowed" to leave until GMs dismiss. Even if scheduled off at close - one of the worst offenders of stacking more work on workers that complete tasks with no benefit to work hard - gated promotions (must work in position x years before moving up, regardless of performance or experience) - GMs have crazy discretion when it comes to how they run the store, and if they do anything against policy, illegal, or immoral you are still expected to make you complaints to...the GMs - anonymous surveys are not anonymous and are forwarded to GMs - raises are typically .10$ every 6mos/year and are gate kept by your supervisor along with passing a test every single time - dress code is dated and discriminatory towards people with beards, tattoos, and piercings. Isnt an issue until it is (ie you **** someone off) - mgmt can expect 48-65hrs a week, FT 40-42hrs a week minimum - corporate uses camera system to regularly watch employees and reports infractions (like standing at the desk, or sitting on the floor even if doing prolonged work on bottom shelves) - if a customer complains to corporate there's a 50/50 chance of write up or firing regardless of context or lack of proof - "essential workers" and state of emergency stores so even if it's crazy dangerous to come to work it's still expected of you - revolving door of employees (you are all replaceable!)
