Vantaggi
If you can turn a blind eye to terrible events that endanger patient's well being, you can basically coast at the director level. Low expectations.
Svantaggi
1- Security re-institutionalized patients. This is most evident at 5000 Parkside. 2-They are solely focused on Methadone treatment in ABH. They state they want to provide integrated care, but miss the mark.. 3- Their establishments are not set up to provide quality and safe care. 4- They do not adhere to any industry standard medical standards. The providers all have offices with no sinks. Until I moved the lab, the lab had no sink. The providers often are expected to provide care for non-SUD care without substantive training. These facilities would be shut down if DOH were to standardize the facilities. 5- If you need a specialty drug, their Pharmacy Benefits Manager will make you jump through hoops to get it and will push you into a cheaper option. I am on a medication that is 10 years old and have been on this med for about 5 years. It's been 2 months and I still don't have it. 6- Weird nuances about similar level positions- one director position can require an LPN while another director will have to have a PhD....and they pay the LPN more.
