Vantaggi
Quotas are highly attainable; consistently, the majority of the sales force exceeds their individual quota. Uncapped commissions, which means people are making money! The compensation is pretty fair, but not the highest in the market. Not so stressful on the sales side as most companies. Advocate promoting from within (none of the ISR Managers are from outside; they were all once ISR's themselves who did well and were promoted and there are other positions to be promoted into if you want another path). Intelligent people! Ivy-league school grads, top performers from Google, Cisco and other competitors, speaks 4+ languages, etc. Just all around good people to be around. Excellent products (Google was one of our first customers and are now one of Meraki's investors). The product sells itself. Meraki won tech award of the yr 2012 by InfoWorld. Mini Google atmosphere, light and fun and you can be yourself; work hard, play hard. We have a "make a wish" button on our dash board where we can put in suggestions and many times, they do come true! For instance, someone suggested we get our whole rooftop designed and it happened quickly and now it's a great place to hang for lunch or a beer after work. Perks: Meraki does treat its employees very well. I've worked for another start up and a Fortune 50 company and have never been treated this well... 100% company paid medical, dental and vision insurance, healthy, free catered lunches and free breakfast, snacks and drinks. Bring your dog to work. Company paid ski trips. Clubs like soccer, softball, cycling, etc. Stock options, which is great because no doubt, Meraki will go public! 3 on 3 lunches, which is really cool; every Tues/Thurs you could go out to lunch with 2 other ppl in diff depts to get to know your peers outside of your dept and the company will reimburse! Ping pong, etc.
Svantaggi
These are things which can definitely be fixed in the future: No 401K match (yet?). Very difficult to find parking after 8am. We're not in the SOMA or Mission Bay where most hot start-ups should be. More team bonding events; not just happy hour, but things like bowling at Lucky Strikes again, etc.
