The pay was very good and benefits were excellent. I was promoted 4 times in 8 years with a pay increase every year. Training was long and extensive. Your manager can make the job a lot more enjoyable if he or she is good. Opposite is also true.

Tons of layoffs. They bragged about never laying off anyone when I was hired and preached at meetings about how it paid to stay due to their pension plan - despite lower pay than some competitors. I was laid off last year but it really is just an industry wide trend. Access to providers is also becoming more and more limited.
