First off, the warehouse workers are no longer allowed to partake in the snacks. Apparently a couple people had been 'abusing the system'. This was the worst job I've ever had. I have never dreaded going to work so much before. It's a really unusual and unpleasant work environment. You have no privacy or personal space as everyone's desks are just pushed together in 'pods' but at the same time, talking to your co-workers is severely frowned upon and considered 'unprofessional' (yes, I was actually told this by a manager after talking to my desk neighbor when I first started working there). You can be sitting two feet from someone you need to ask a question of, but instead of just asking them like a normal person, you're supposed to IM them or e-mail them. The general atmosphere is of discontent. Almost every single person I knew in my department was actively looking for another job. Don't fall for the false 'salary' promises during the interview. They will tell you that you will be making X amount of money per year as if it's a salary position. However, everyone who works there other than a couple of the upper management people is an hourly employee and they are basing this X number off of a 45 hour work week. So for example, if they say you're going to be making 40k a year, you're probably thinking that you're making about $19.25/hour. But really, you're actually making about $17/hour. Quite a difference. During training I was told almost straight off by upper management that if I have any thoughts or ideas on how to improve the the business, to keep them to myself. You don't get paid vacation until you've worked there for 6 months. Meaning, you don't even start accumulating vacation hours until you've hit the 6 month mark. No health insurance for 3 months. Not very many holidays are acknowledged. The training is awful and unhelpful. I overheard a manager refer to the JPAs as their 'minions'. You're not allowed to make any decisions on your own. Everything has to be approved by a 'supervisor'. Upper management verbally abuses employees. Being yelled and sworn at by them is not uncommon. Based off of conversations between sales and the customers I had overheard all day, the company as a whole is super unethical and shady.
