Vantaggi

>Location is pretty good (close to Costco, Ikea, and 405 freeway) and lots of parking. >Healthcare is amazing. Practically free and covers almost everything. >Very diverse range of ethnicities, really good job. >Flexible scheduling and sick days >Most of the senior Support team members including the Leads are awesome, funny, and friendly people who help tremendously. >Guaranteed job security because the software is so terrible - clients will never figure out how to use it and will always have Support on speed dial.

Svantaggi

>The software is absolutely terrible to learn and use. Software developers have their heads stuck up where the sun don't shine - which can definitely be overlooked if they built good software. Unfortunately for the clients and the Support team, they don't. >If you are a TSR working support, trust me - you will not know what you are doing 95% of the time. The other 5% you'll be spending in useless standups and meetings. >Transferring to another position or dept requires staying at the current position for 2 years. Good luck keeping people around for that long... >UX team goes out to lunch 90% of the time and practically doesn't exist for this software. >No at work perks. People have to buy and stock their own snacks. Salad bar is nice the first few weeks but gets old quick. No one uses the soda machine (also never saw it cleaned the year I was there). >No natural lighting at all. Working Support for this POS software was depressing, but the lack of lighting really drove it home. >In company software is REALLY old. They still use Skype/Lync along with Outlook. The dream of the 90's is alive at MeridianLink. >Pay is NOT in line with the work being done. >You will lose hair and/or gain weight around your midsection. >You will think that cubicles are awesome, until you realize that everyone is packed like sardines. >You will start to remember specific clients' names due to repeated contact along with stress, and hate yourself for it.

You sound passionate and as though you take pride in the things you do. That's exactly the kind of talent we seek and value here. Many of our team members are proud of our culture which we continually work hard to nurture and improve upon, and which is the single biggest reason why we're #1 in the marketplace. We regret that your experience was not positive, and wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Vantaggi

-Remote-first, WFH stipend, decent PTO, Great Place to Work Certified. -Not too woke for a CA company. -Recently went private which hopefully will be a good thing. -Good work-life balance, I never work more than 40/week. -If you like AI-assisted development, Github Copilot (for everyone) and Claude Code (for seniors) are provided. -They haven't had layoffs since 2024.

Svantaggi

-Revolving door of upper leadership. Brand new CTO; who knows what he'll do? -Many dev teams are majority cheap offshore contractors. Minimal feeling of being on a team; I don't know most of my coworkers. No teambuilding activities. -Reliance on poor metrics like code coverage and velocity. Managing by metrics and dashboards. -Minimal salary raises. -CEO sends out motivational "rah rah" emails every Friday. -Disconnect between what developers are experiencing and what upper management thinks is going on. -Company is going "all in" on AI, and have unrealistic expectations of what AI can accomplish. Like they think they can get A-level work out of C-level developers through AI usage. AI fatigue is real. -Not all managers are emotionally intelligent or even technically adept.
