Corporate Profit at the expense of Employees and Customers - Recensione dipendente - Dipendente anonimo presso Methode Electronics

Since the purchase of Pacific Insight in 2017, I was able to see first hand how Methode Management arrogance and Corporate profit at all cost created a company without employee happiness/trust, customer satisfaction and product quality. While profit is a driving factor for any business and is a measure of success for any publicly traded corporation, I could not understand how management could not see that success of a company should also be measured by the other 3 pillars mentioned above. Employees in Nelson were lied to about the direction of the company and their future within it. In 2018, there were approx. 220 employees in Nelson working in a 70,000+ sqft facility. Jump ahead to 2019 to see only 20 people still employed inside an empty shell that used to be a key employer in the Kootenay’s. It was not just the Nelson facility that saw downsizing. The Burnaby BC office was closed without warning and employees told to pack up. Key Management was let go in Michigan without warning and told to pack up. Customers were lied to about the quality and delivery of their products when forced to move their product’s production from Nelson to Mexico. After all the customer costs associated with this, they were then given a cost increase after the move. From a customer standpoint, it must be difficult to understand how moving a product to a low cost country (LCC) would actually cost them more. At the end of the day, Methode Electronics has shown that long term employees do not matter. Long term customers do not matter. Product quality does not matter. Makes you wonder how this company can still be in business. If I was looking for a job, I would not look to Methode. If I was looking for a company to do business with, I would not look at Methode. I really hope Methode Management starts spending more time investing in their people and customers and less time worrying about what color of blue jeans are allowed in the corporate office. Yes.. this is a real thing! Focus on what matters.
