Methodist Health System is a company that is community centered and values its patients AND their employees. They have a lot of resources for employees that are there to help them take care of themselves, which in turn helps them better the patients. I am grateful to be a part of a company that has a community-based culture, while still maintaining a work-life balance. The people in higher positions really care about increasing employee and patient experience. In order to increase patient experience, there needs to be a positive employee experience. There are a lot of opportunities for growth within the company through offered trainings.
Svantaggi
Methodist uses some older software and really cares about protecting PHI, which makes some processes less streamlined. However, I think it goes to show how much Methodist cares about protecting what is important while making their processes work.

Svantaggi
During the orientation, they tell employees that their health is important. As health professionals, our health has to be good so we can take care of our patients and make their health better. However, Methodist Health System makes it extremely hard for an employee if they don’t have enough PTO to be able to get the help they need. So say you don’t have enough PTO but you need a doctors appointment that you have to go to. You’re gonna get a write up and those write ups eventually turn into termination. So where is the grace in the health system? Methodist would be a wonderful place to work if they truly understood their employees are human. I had someone pass away and I couldn’t even go to their funeral because I didn’t have the PTO and couldn’t afford to get a write up. I would’ve loved to have been able to go to my uncle’s funeral. Did anyone care know all you get is sorry for your loss, but you don’t have enough PTO…. So crappy. You’re BEYOND REPLACEABLE and they make sure you know it.
