The people are great, at least anyone who does not have words like supervisor, manager, director, etc in their title are.

The pay is non existent. Other cable industry workers have laughed when they find out what Metrocast pays. Raises are also a joke, they will even go so far as to offer them in order to keep you working, then renig when raise time comes around. When I once complained about a renig on a raise promise, I had a state general manager tell me that he believed that I had been promised this by my direct manager, that I really did deserve the raise that was promised, but he wasn't going to give it to me anyway. Almost everyone that I have encountered that is working there is actively searching for work elsewhere. The only thing that keeps most of them there is the tight job market. Managers and Supervisors will stab you in the back or throw you under the bus. I have had it happen to me and I have seen it happen to several other employees. They slowly chase away the skilled/useful people who take the first opportunity they get to leave, and keep the unskilled/problem people. I have seen several skilled, key people leave who would have stayed if only offered a little more money. I have also seen a couple of technicians who are actually not capable of doing the job left on the job just because it is difficult for them to push them out in favor of hard working people. They will not tolerate those who try to make conditions better. An attempt to unionize in one area led the company to fire almost all of their technical people and reaplace them with contractors.

Free cable, internet and phone. The insurance wasn't so bad either actually.

The customer service manager Tony was and still is rude and cruel. He plays head games with his employees, he says hurtful things to them and does nothing about lewd comments, as he is one of the people involved in making some of them. The pay is terrible, they do not have worth while incentives to keep their staff happy, whom are already abused daily by the customers, never mind the management in place to help and guide them. Whenever something happens or needs to be followed up on, you can always count on a snarky rude email coming from managers about protocol. Avoid applying there, apply somewhere else where the manager doesn't call the lady in the office "Glory Hole". I got out of there, anyone left behind should too before it destroys them.
