Vantaggi
I spent time at Miller Zell and overall had a positive experience.
The people are the highlight. Smart, hardworking, collaborative, and genuinely kind. I felt comfortable being myself there, which says a lot. Teams generally want to do good work and support each other. There’s real pride in the output and in client relationships.
If you value strong relationships, solid client work, and a culture where people are generally respectful and supportive, Miller Zell has a lot to offer.
Pros:
• Great people and team culture
• Meaningful client work
• Comfortable, collaborative environment
Svantaggi
There are noticeable power dynamics and a bit of “good old boy” energy in certain areas. It’s not everywhere, but it’s present enough that you feel it. Decision-making can sometimes feel concentrated among a small group, which makes upward mobility and influence harder than it should be.
Systems and processes are another hurdle. There are a lot of workarounds. If you’re someone who thrives in clean, well-documented workflows, you may find yourself reverse-engineering how things actually get done versus how they’re supposed to get done. There’s also one systems manager role that holds a significant amount of centralized control, which can slow things down and create bottlenecks.
Cons:
• Power dynamics in certain areas
• Process inconsistencies and heavy reliance on workarounds
• Systems ownership concentrated in one role
