Vantaggi
Consistent miles, while OTR, I average conservatively 2800 miles weekly. No BS, if you move quick and stay on the road longer than 3 weeks, you could see that rise to 3100. Good, mostly experienced dispatchers, super easy to work with and great with meeting hometime. Equipment is nice and kept up pretty well, some terminal shops are better and quicker than others but it's rare that I'm down and not running bc of truck. Includes DirecTV and SiriusXM, OTR trucks are full sleepers and have Cummins x15 Efficiency engines, others have a paccar one. Company culture, this is the odd trucking company where most drivers feel content being here, even the ones who get poor miles. Many drivers who leave, desire to return and if they were productive, are welcomed back warmly. I'm a rehire and I do better than I did before I left because I work harder now and they respond by not letting me sit waiting for loads. Excellent training, if you are without a CDL and you want to get one at a good company, here's your one stop shop. I'm in my second year driving, I'm home each weekend yet I will still gross ~$65000. It'd be even higher should I stay out on the road weeks at a time.
Svantaggi
Few to list, the paper system is a bit of a drag but hard to avoid in trucking. Because of their fuel system it's not the easiest to rack up points with one place while meeting their suggestions but they compensate for it. If you only stay out 3 weeks at a time, you better tone down your mileage expectation to more like 2400-2500 miles per week and go on their straight pay payment method instead of per diem. Like I said, short list
