I think your experience here will vary base on the group and management you work with. I was based at the San Jose site and worked in QC. The job is easy, but my management was incompetent. I had no form of support or guidance in my role. My direct manager is a micro manager and doesn’t have the technical knowledge or skills to support the group. Microbiology management sets you up for failure. Multiple times task are given to you last minute without notifying you. Management will also ask her direct reports to write reports for her and then she goes and takes the credit for your work without acknowledging you. she relies heavily on her direct reports to figure stuff out themselves. Any task given to her are given to her direct reports. All her direct report dread her and doesn’t respect her knowledge. Lab manager also is horrible to work with. She constantly gossips and is passive aggressive, and is a horrible communicator.
