MiniCo is a privately held company in business since 1974. The business founder is the current Chairman of the Board. The company has a variety of business units serving the self storage industry. Major products include commercial and retail insurance, publications, and retail self storage operations in Hong Kong. The company is very stable and has a relitively low turnover. There is a good family orientation and positive work/life balance. Senior management displays a genuine interest in doing the right thing with integrity.

Smaller organizations limit verticle mobility due to very low turnover and limited opportunities to create new positions. Compensation is low average and healthcare benefits are OK for single employees and very expensive for families. Good time off.

Pay was decent, management was always accessible. Great opportunities for learning and new experiences. Most of the staff was easy to get along with.

The accounting department was a mess when I was there. Only one person had been there for over a year and it was evident why. There was somebody within the department that had very little patience or tact in dealing with subordinates.
