Mirror Image has been a great stable job. The better I do, the better I am compensated and more responsibility I have. There is a lot of freedom in my role as long as I do a great job. They are understanding if I am overwhelmed and happy to assist.

It can be a stressful place to work because of the very needy clients with tight deadlines.

People are friendly and open to helping out where needed. If you show competence, you will get plenty of additional work to build resume. Get off at 2:30 on Fridays. Exposure to hospitality/design industry, often times speaking with big names. Taught me how to not be afraid of speaking to leaders of companies. No overtime.

Completely disorganized. Work is distributed unevenly. Favoritism. Disconnect between the owners. Owners disconnect from their business paired with hothead makes for an unsatisfying environment. Taking projects with deadlines that can't be met. Tremendous burden on the staff. High turnover except with those who are favored. Low pay, terrible benefits. Not much room for growth.

Where do I begin? This company excels at being disorganized. Higher ups have no clue how to run a tight ship, all problems are handled reactively instead of proactively. If you are a Project Manager, you shoulder the brunt of the problems with no authority to change anything and are burnt out. PMs typically only last a year or less. The product are cheap mirrors that come from China, which means inevitably there are a lot of damaged and broken pieces, which results in constant low stock. Management are those who have "failed forward" into their positions, with no schooling or real world business experience. They have no empathy, skill or interest in being true leaders or examples. For being "so busy", they take off an exorbitant amount of time off (coming in late, leaving early, days off) while the PMs shoulder the responsibility. Oh, and the most insulting part? THE PAY. It does not correlate with the role and what any other job would pay with the same role/responsibilities. The company is incredibly cheap, one can only get 5 days of vacation after a year, no benefits are offered. And to add insult, the office is in a pre-WWII building that is either too hot or too cold, has toilets that leak and are rarely cleaned, which means garbage is constantly spilling over.
