Mithril concentrates on harder to understand, truly disruptive (I hate that word, but it fits) opportunities, and is stage / geography / sector agnostic. This means every company we look at has a steep learning curve. Consequently every day is mentally challenging and a great learning opportunity. Also consequently, my colleagues are amazingly smart, thoughtful, and perceptive, with backgrounds quite different from what you'd find at many VC firms.

A downside of our investing approach is that we have a way, way more thorough process than most venture firms. We often can't match the speed of "momentum" driven investors and we lose out on good deals. Part of the model, but still frustrating sometimes.

Everything you read online is true, but what's amazing is that this is only about 20% of what actually happened. How the firm is not yet shut down by the SEC is beyond me.
