- It's been nothing but a painful neverending change in the past 5 years - The company keeps losing profitability in the past years due to various reasons including alarming leadership gap and talent outflow, especially in BC and AB regions - With many talented employees exited in the past 3 years (Edmonton and Vancouver are especially vulnerable), some projects have been going through major issues causing financial and reputational damages - Extremely top-heavy executive leadership team, many of whom come from acquired companies by Modern as well as the Client side (PCL and Ellisdon). - Generally, the senior leadership team is misaligned as many of the executives push their own agendas and initiatives not necessarily making the overall business better, but often achieving the opposite results. - To support the above, quite a few senior executives prematurely retired in the past few years, and some have been let go. Internally, most of these moves were viewed as unplanned with no succession planning in place creating further operational gaps and issues in related regions - The company does not live to its own core values and strategic commitments. The culture has been consistently degrading in the past 3 years. Culture in Vancouver and Edmonton offices seems to be non-existent anymore... even the Toronto office is going through rocky times due to leadership changes...
