I will soon be celebrating 6 years with Modo Labs. I am fortunate to be supported and surrounded by a great team of people, many of whom also celebrate longevity with the company and many whom are also women. As a single mother, I (and my daughter) have benefitted greatly from the flexibility Modo has granted me, that of working remote from my home office and accommodating my need to limit travel in my daughter’s younger years. During my time with Modo, I have also been given opportunity to better my skill set, work strategic projects, and advance my position. I feel supported by peers and mentored by management & executives. And, I appreciate the benefits of being with a start-up: ready access to executives and founders, and the ability to influence direction and effect change at all levels. I feel valued and respected at Modo, and I value and respect my Modo family in turn. For anyone considering a position here, I offer only encouragement. Being a part of a start-up’s growth is exciting, but not without its growing pains. I’ve seen certain departments experience more turn over than others (not uncommon in high tech sales and marketing), but I feel these changes have also provided Modo with the opportunity to build stronger teams in those areas.
