Vantaggi
I met some cool people that were fun and energetic.
Svantaggi
Where to begin? To start with, that salary they post on Indeed (60-80k on your first year) is functionally a lie. Is it possible to earn that? Sure. However, most won't. Excluding the best, the most any canvasser is making is 3k a month, but even that's doubtful. It labels itself as a marketing position, it's really a high volume sales job. It's all about setting appointments by going door to door. I was actively encouraged to pressure homeowners and even lie to get appointments out of them. There is no aspect to this job where you are not at fault. In the few people who you'll get genuinely interested in the program, they could get disqualified because their credit is too low. Many people know this, so we were encouraged to have them say yes to a 630 credit score anyway. And if they cancel later? You should have built more value in the appointment (something you were doing anyway). Didnt get your 2 appointments that day? You should have built good rapport (translation: you didn't pressure them enough) It felt super dishonest so I quit after 2 month's. Oh, and the threat of being fired will always loom over your head if your behind.
