Vantaggi
Fun company. They really do try to encourage a great employee morale. Most of the leadership did seem to care about over-all morale. Salaries were on par for the market and for what other dealerships were paying for similar positions other than sales. The discount on parts prices and labor rates is very nice when you need work done on your own vehicle, including body shop.
Svantaggi
Support staff had nowhere to advance to unless you directly knew the person in charge of the hiring in that location or office. While leadership cared about morale, individual stores varied with the direct appreciation of the team members. The store I was in, I didn't really feel appreciated for everything I did and how much I sacrificed to help out in areas where I definitely did not have any obligation to. Nepotism is something that plagues all auto dealerships, and Morries is no exception. Hiring from within usually means within the manager's circle of friends and family. Those people get a shot at a position (some practically given one) before you do, if you are not connected to them in any way. General Managers and other management doesn't always see the potential in current staff. When the investment firm bought the company, this seemed to increase more when the 'bottom line' started to really matter.
