Very unsupportive of parents returning to work part time (basically impossible to work part time unless you want to go back on the phones). It's a place where it really matters if your face fits - if not they will find a way to help you leave. Departments and teams vary hugely in how supportive they are regarding mental health problems - due to the scale of Customer Services, they tended to be unsupportive as they needed to be seen as fair, however other departments may have the flexibility to be more supportive. 'Hybrid' working seen as the be all and end all - very much enforced and management/board see working from home as less productive. During the transition from WFH to hybrid they wouldn't stop talking about the benefits of being in the office, made it feel like the work we did from home was not of value (despite being more productive). If you want to apply for internal roles, you need to do a LOT of groundwork - meetings after meetings to try and get in with the right people. There have been a lot of redundancies since I left and I wouldn't feel like I had job security due to constant changes if I was still there. Even while I was still there we were encouraged to constantly 'prove our worth' to the new CEO to avoid being made redundant. In general, all roles were very stressful and a lot of people across the board were quite unhappy, despite enjoying aspects of their job. Lots of staff off sick with stress/mental health issues. Mike Betts is very much missed. He was worth every single penny and did wonderful things.
