The workshop team is generally good to work with and there’s decent camaraderie day to day. The 4-on, 3-off shift pattern is a genuine benefit, even though the days are long. Monthly free food and quarterly team nights out are a nice bonus.

Favouritism is a major issue. If management does not like you, your workload tends to increase in ways that disrupt your planned day and make it harder to hit targets. Targets themselves are unrealistic. During PDI you are expected to check the entire car within 45 minutes, while also maintaining quality and working at speed. Every vehicle is expected to take the same amount of time, with no allowance for faults or issues during the process. If a car takes longer than expected, the pressure simply shifts to the next jobs, meaning you have to rush harder to catch up and still meet the daily target. This adds unnecessary stress and discourages doing the job properly. Tools and equipment are often missing or incomplete, yet expectations do not change. Standards are applied inconsistently, with some people avoiding consequences while others are closely monitored or disciplined over minor or disputed issues. Performance often feels secondary to personal favour with management, and there are some very inappropriate intimate relationships between some staff and management which result in unfair personal gains. There is also a general lack of professionalism in parts of the business, which affects morale and trust, and core company values are not actually being followed.
