Presenteeism is rife, there's no flexibility in that sense and it may make you anxious. Some managers have unrealistic expectations for the amount of work you can do in a certain time period. Not much support. People are not willing to take the time to teach you because they're either too busy or assume you shouldn't need teaching anything. Favouritism is a big issue in some departments - it can either make or break your career. Poor pay. Toxic environments where people enjoy gossiping and talking badly about each other.
