Vantaggi

Weekly pay- that's the only upside I see here. Unfortunately, you need last week's pay to cover this week's gas money to complete your cases. Like dealing with a drug dealer, the only way to come out ahead is to build up a big credit and disappear.

Svantaggi

Where do I start? The amount of work expected and the fees are completely out of balance. The Field Reps are under constant scrutiny to do more cases in less time with fewer errors. I'm all about accurate work, but the only way to stay off the radar is to lie about the actual time spent on a case- thereby forcing the employee to work off the clock. This is in violation of the US Department of Labor laws of course. Also, if you go out on a survey and forget to take one of the mandatory photos, you are required to drive back to the case, however far away it is, and take the photo at your own expense. This is also in violation of federal labor laws- if you as an employer require me to do something as a part of my work duties, you are required to pay me for those duties, period. They tell you you will average $12/hour doing this- but the reality is you will probably not make minimum wage on the case fees, and you certainly won't when you calculate the true cost of all the paper, ink, fuel, mileage, and wear and tear on your electronic devices and vehicle. As to the subject properties themselves, the Field Rep is forbidden to discuss any of the findings of the survey, even though they are they to determine if any "adverse conditions" are present. If these are potential safety issues why can't we tell the policyholder? It's patently unethical, as the only reason these issues are documented is so that the insurance company can either jack up the premium, cancel the policy, or weasel out of a claim. The only exception is if there is an immediate risk of life, like a burning fire or gas leak. Why on earth can't we tell someone there is an unsafe power panel or gas line in their home? After enough of this, and having trouble sleeping at night I quit. As to the Field Reps, they are forced to drive their own vehicles often times hundreds of miles outside of their agreed territory to keep their jobs. Mueller will tell you it's what you agreed to when you took the job, but the reality is that they are perpetually short-handed because of the huge turnover in field reps, leaving them with vast amounts of uncovered territory. If you're looking for a way to wear out all of your personal property, spend hours of thankless time on the road and make nothing for it- by all means sign right up. Otherwise, run from this company.

Vantaggi

The best part of the job imo is the flexible schedule. The pay is a bit low for me but I am hoping with hard work and dedication to the position that it’ll get better.

Svantaggi

Standards seem a bit high.
