I worked for MHS for 20 years in software development. In that time I became the most experienced person on the team, having deeper knowledge of every product released, assisting every one else on the team, and always completed projects ahead of their deadline to help out others. In that time I saw nearly nobody promoted. This is not a place for growth. People usually worked here for a couple years before realizing this and then left. Even then it was difficult for a lot of people to find another job because of how niche this company is. The company also had a habit of laying off great employees so that they can hire straight out of college graduates for cheap. The CEO had successfully convinced all high tenure people that they wouldn’t be valued nearly as much in other companies and they should stay. What value meant to her I’m not sure because the pay certainly wasn’t great and we got laid off anyways. Later being replaced by a low income college graduate. This is a company that thinks they have an amazing culture just because they call everyone a “family” in every meeting. Don’t get sucked in. There’s no benefit to working here TLDR: No growth, low pay, niche industry so applying to jobs after is difficult, CEO always calls everyone a family which is a red flag for toxic
