Good money to be made, physically demanding

Work in close quarters with other people.

Steady work, the crew in electrical shop was good. Lots of overtime. Small local company, free range to learn whatever you want in the electrical field.

Head of maintenance oversaw the electrical department and didn’t have the credentials to do so, it should be separated like most mills, supervising electrician should answer to the plant manager and owner of the company only. Always short handed in the electrical department because they don’t advertise the pay. It’s decent pay. Hours can be long, work weekends but that’s the mill life. They have too many people sticking their fingers into different departments, bad management, there is an engineer there that doesn’t have a clue what he is doing. Some management gets better benefits than regular workers.
