Landscaping looks nice. I see some of you mention free soup. Since when do we make that as the deal breaker for your career. BTW, the soups they offer are loaded with sodium and not good for your health. Healthcare insurance used to be good, but that has increased over the years.

If you are a young graduate right out of college - stay away. they hire young kids and barely pay anything while the older staff who've been being there for a while draw excess salaries that they are not so deserving. Snow days - forget it. There were times that I would drive in because if I don't it will be counted as a personal day. Just like someone else mentioned they strictly act on Military time and if you get 10- 15 minutes late (even on a heavy traffic rainy day) you get reprimand and warned and will be asked to submit time for that. Mind you many times I had stayed late to submit things to get done - those don't count. If you are not on the good side of your boss, no matter what work you do, your work won't be acknowledged or praised or a pat on the back. No one support you if you are on the bad side of your manager. There is no recognition for merit. There is no working from home flexibility for majority of the departments. Whilst my work period there (I work for several years) I only saw one or two departments with this flexibility and that also, depends on your supervisor at the time. They barely pay the minimum. If you have good credentials look away and get experience elsewhere. Also, if you plan on having a family - start looking elsewhere, you can't be the bread winner here. There is not much opportunity to move up unless you are one of upper management favorites. There are lot of clerical/ administrative positions since this a typical insurance industry. Lot of the current employees have been there for 20+ years and some of them don't have college degrees and do not know how to work a computer or work excel. Very old fashioned and you feel like you are working in a 1950's atmosphere. They tell you that there are no layoffs. But that is just a lie to get you in the door, because over the course of my being there, I saw several people get fired. They will cone in one day and will be called to the HR office and will be asked to pack their belongings and ask them to leave. This is worse than layoffs because layoffs you get a package and notice and they treat you like a human. Christmas celebration times - you are allowed to take a 2 hr lunch break with your department or another department. You only get that time. They praise people who have been there longer than 25 years. They even have a huge celebration for that. They are not deserving because lot of the young people that were hired later on do the work while the senior management complain in their offices and draw money to their pockets.
