Must make promo calls to customers who already get email & snail mail; disrupts reg. work, many get angry, "don't call" lists aren't updated. The rules apply until they don't ... store management seems to randomly decide when they want to change something, not thinking the whole thing thru so often revert back to the original rule until they make another change. While customer service is important, it shouldn't be @ the expense & dignity of employees. When a shopper is just irritable, the employee shouldn't be disciplined when they did everything correctly, professionally & according to (whatever) rules are in place (at the time).
