The culture within the company is toxic and this is set purely by senior management. If anyone works here for an extended period of time it will be detrimental to their mental health. I spent the last years of working here hating my job and I found this carried over into my home and personal life. There are mental health posters dotted around the office with who to speak to to get help but this must be done in your own time and not on company time. The irony is lost on senior management that the reason mental health declines is due to the rules, procedures and the environment they enforce. Senior management force employees to work a certain way when they themselves don't follow the same rules. The company is very much built on a “do as I say not as I do” mentality. When challenged on anything or a new idea is raised its always “leave it with me” when nothing comes of it in the hope the idea is forgotten about. This leads to a feeling of worthlessness in the workplace. Everyone is forced to log 480 minutes and everything has to be justified. This causes time logs to be exaggerated costing clients more time and money than what they are actually using. Management uses words like efficiency which is another way of saying we want to squeeze even more out of employees . During my exit interview I discussed the time logging and how so many people struggle with it and how many Glassdoor reviews reference this as an issue. HR confirmed this is raised in every single exit interview but yet Senior management have not adapted to the feedback or reviews purely because less time logged = less money in their pockets. To help those who are struggling with logging their 480 minutes each day Senior Management brought in weekly time logging of 2400 (480 x 5 = 2400). Meaning if you can't log 480 one day you have to make it up over the course of the week to make sure you are logging a total of 2400 minutes. This only compounds the issue for employees who cannot log their time as they are waiting/worrying all week to be told off at the end of the week for not logging 2400 minutes. This is particularly infuriating when Senior Management will log one time log per day, of 480 minutes, with the notes of “Bus dev” or “Various Stuff”. Having worked at Netmatters for so long I knew how to “play the game” and log my time but I have seen so many employees struggle with the time logging and constantly be questioned and harassed to the point where they either get fired or have to leave as their mental health has taken such a hit. I always said that I would recommend anyone starting in IT to work for Netmatters for a year or so to gain the skills required to work there and then look to move on however having left and realised there are so many better companies out there I very strongly recommend no employee looks at Netmatters as a viable option. There are so many companies out there who do truely respect you as a worker and will make your working life so much more enjoyable. Do not be surprised that a 5 star review will now appear after this review. Once this review has been submitted the digital marketing team, within Netmatters, will get a task in their queue to raise a fake review or find someone new and naive to raise a 5 star review to push this review down.

These are always taken very seriously at the highest levels and all feedback is taken into consideration as we constantly are looking for ways to improve. The management team are committed to providing a good value, excellent level of service to their customers as well as providing a good working environment for their staff. From your review we can see that in your experience that on this occasion we missed the mark. We take the mental health of our staff very seriously and there are a number of avenues available for any staff member who feels they are struggling. We have a dedicated HR department who is best placed to provide any additional support or training needed. We also have additional support available in the form of our life coaching sessions and a Mental Health and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy through our private healthcare provider Vitality - They have unlimited talking therapies and items such as out-patient cognitive behavioural therapy or counselling to help with a variety of mental health problems such as depression and anxiety as well as ADHD. We can also appreciate that time-logging can often be difficult. Our business model is unique as we sell “time” to our customers by the minute. This means that every hour is accounted for and customers can be sure they are receiving quality work at all times. That being said, we would never ask someone to unfairly bill a customer. As part of our “Perfect Working Day” initiative which have made it much easier for staff to log time through their working day, which includes flexibility around necessary breaks required throughout the day. Time management expectation is difficult to follow sometimes. You get burned out easily, especially because of the high turnover, when someone leaves, you have to pick up their work, a lot of time without training for higher level tickets. No structure when it comes to job description. You could be a junior employee but getting high level tickets to work on. No short-term sick pay. The parking situation is not good, Sometimes you get conflicting information from different managers.

All of our offices do have access to free parking, and we encourage team members to speak with their manager or HR if they are unsure of the options available at their location. In addition, short-term sick pay is in place, and details of this are outlined in our company manual. We recognise that awareness of benefits and provisions is just as important as having them, and we’re continuing to focus on clearer communication to ensure everyone has the right information. Feedback like this is genuinely valued and helps us continue to improve the experience for our team.

Pay is ok & decent exposure

- management are totally clueless - Toxic work environment lead by senior management - Everything needs to be logged, expects you to log 8 hours everyday leading to burnout or unethical logging - Does not take criticism onboard and usually takes it personally - HR are not there to help you, they are there to protect their clueless and often stupid procedures & ideologies - To hit all KPIs they create basically turns you into a robot. If you don't hit the KPIs you get told off or made to feel you're not good at your job - Directors have become so greedy that they have taken away perks from employees so they can get big pay rises All in all AVOID AT ALL COSTS. P.s. ignore the response I will get from this, its not true and you will find it out eventually.
