1. During COVID almost everyone was WFH of course. Then Remote and Hybrid were permitted until March 2022, when management did a 180 about face with- no kidding - 100% mandatory onsite with badge swipe monitoring. Employees that weren't looking suddenly had another reason to. 2. Company's leadership is 2-faced, bragging to analysts about the increasing value of MSRs (mortgage servicing rights) during a rising rate environment, whilst "eliminating positions" of hundreds of employees each month to "manage costs".

While accountability and policy adherence are important, I found the coaching and performance management process to be inconsistent. In my case, concerns that ultimately led to my separation were based on examples spanning many months, yet they were never addressed through coaching or corrective feedback when they occurred. This made it difficult to identify and correct issues before they escalated. After many years with the company and no prior disciplinary history, I would have appreciated a more proactive approach to employee development and communication. Managers have many responsibilities, but regular feedback and timely coaching should remain a priority to help employees succeed and avoid preventable outcomes.
