Nonin lacks leadership, from the owner, all the way down to the managers. Unfortunately the company has not been able to keep up with it competitors in the market. Most of the Engineering staff spends most of their time doing continuation work on old product lines (+10 old). Really no new products launch in the past 4 years. The company invest little into it employees or new products. The benefits are low, i.e. pay, profit sharing (less than 1% if at all), 401(k) 1%, and their medical is subpar. Most of the younger engineers only stay ~2 years and move on due to lack of interest in the company. Nonin shows no loyalty to it's long term employees, meaning they will terminate any one, at anytime, for what ever reason. I never understood their behavior, they have very high turn over to begin with. There were "layoffs" almost yearly when I was there. It would be hard for me to recommend working for this company to anyone I know. My advice would be to ask them hard question if you are considering taking a job with them, and understand that you may not be there long.
