Leadership: - The work environment is toxic due to the existence of an "it" group that ignores those who are not a part of it. - Leaders often complain about each other to employees, but speaking out can result in passive-aggressive disciplinary action or termination. - There are double standards for workers and senior managers, with the latter being allowed to take credit for subordinates' work and take time off whenever they please. Workers, on the other hand, are reprimanded when a senior manager performs poorly. - Despite HR sending out surveys to collect feedback, it is largely disregarded, which can be disheartening. Layoffs: - During my 2.5 years of employment, I witnessed a high number of layoffs and terminations. The company frequently changed its course abruptly every 3 months due to emotional decisions made right after board meetings. - The work environment was not particularly welcoming to African American coworkers, and many of them had been laid off or fired. Company: - Despite offering unlimited PTO, the company actually expects employees to be available to respond to Slack messages during their vacation time.
