Worked here for a couple of years and used to love it but now I'm getting very frustrated with the toxic company culture.
Svantaggi
Got super lucky with my coworkers when I first started. Now I really can see the toxic company culture. Coworkers literally report each other left and right. Never had a problem before, but every week for the past ~two months I have to message my boss details on what happened because some random client complained through an angry email. Customers always complain, it's the nature of a customer service job. If you ask the professor to review their project to make sure everything goes well, they complain and you get in trouble. If you don't check their project and it goes wrong you get in trouble. If you take your time reviewing projects you get in trouble and if you don't take your time reviewing projects you get in trouble. They will interrogate you every single time a client complains. Imagine a fast food worker getting in trouble every time someone complained about something, it's like that at Novogene. Customers always complain, but that doesn't mean that you are doing anything wrong as an employee, but you will still be asked every single time to explain what happened. Sometimes it takes common sense to just let some complaints go because it’s the nature of the job to get complaints that are just because of company policy and not your fault, but they always have to follow up on all complaints. Your coworkers will report you and they screen shot emails. Anything from responding ~a couple days late to an email will be reported. Sales team is psycho. My Sales asked me to forward an email thread so he can verify when I emailed a coworker for help because he doesn't believe when I tell him the truth. It took the other coworker a week to respond to my email. So, he will most likely report the other person for taking a week to respond to the email. He isn't even my boss or the boss of the other person. It's so toxic. Sales get commission pay on each project so they accept weird/impossible projects and if things go wrong they blame you and they don't help you troubleshoot if things go wrong. But they will most likely monitor to report you for minor things. Not sure why Sales gets commission, if they do nothing and they never help move the project along, they just supervise. Sales will act more like your boss than your actual boss. They don't do anything except travel on company money but treat others as their servants. There are so many times the Sales forgot to respond to emails and I didn't report them but if I forget to do something small they will report me. They CC supervisors on all your emails, but no one sees the emails between the Sales and the clients. They message after hours expecting you to work for them even after hours because "no one actually sits in front of the computer 8 hours nonstop anyways and that's what they should do."
