OYO realised that the original promise they wanted to deliver to hoteliers was too pricey and completely changed its value proposition at some point- not in a good direction. Fired more than half of the team. Brought management from India who don’t understand the UK market very well. They couldn’t motivate the rest of us who were left in the company. Everything was about taking shortcuts, minimising costs, no standardisation, horrible systems. We were constantly fixing things instead of building a better product. It was a mess.
