Decent place to work if you're happy managing yourself, not for someone who needs their hands held when stuff gets tricky...
Can involve some heavy lifting, walking up stairs, tricky parking situations and a bit of time stress but it's all managable if you're resilient and got a good work ethic.
Getting into the role was easy, couple emails back n forth, group interview with laid back trainers, backround check and you're in.
Can't fault the vans in our depot so far, all brand new 74/25 regs and they've got all the essentials such as car play and air/con... ideal when traffic hits.
Training was in depth, with positive interaction from both our group and the trainers. Everyone seemed satisfied at the end that we'd learned enough to take on the role pretty quickly. The driving training/assessment gives those with less van experience how to turn and handle the big vehicle. Unfortunately not everyone cuts it however that's the same with any job- if you're not suitable to undertake the role, you won't get the job...
Some management appear a bit distant and more interested with their own issues, but that's the joys of having a company that doesn't have supervisors and just a group of managers trying to hold the place together with people scattered all over the place.
Heard horror stories about people getting sacked throughout probation, however from what I've seen and heard the management aren't after people who slightly creep over the speed limit, they're after catching idiots ragging the vans about... same goes with abcense, it's unfortunate but if you can't show up, you'll not be able to keep the job.
Some people are happy to have a laugh and others are happy to act non-existent, same as any workplace really.
Would be nicer if we got paid more but isn't it the same with most entry-level jobs?
Overall think its a decent company to work for if you're happy driving around big go karts and dropping veg off to old folks and millionaires.
(coming from an ex 150 drop a day courier, this job is a piece of p***)
