Vantaggi

The people. Not only some of the best clinicians I have ever met have spent their time at One Medical, but numerous team members have gone on to great things after One Medical - it seems that constantly putting out easily avoidable fires is a trait that is valuable in this day and age.

Svantaggi

Issues that went ignored before Amir Rubin's hiring as CEO (2017-2023), COVID-19, and Amazon's acquisition have snowballed in the last 12-18 months, leading myself and many to a clear decision that not only is this not the company we initially joined, but is one that has strayed so far from it's mission it doesn't even feel comfortable calling it a healthcare practice. Turnover is currently at an all time high (with compensation, benefits, and treatment of staff at an all time low) and upper management seems hellbent on ignoring or addressing any of these issues. Case in point, this company's approval has gone down almost 25% on Glassdoor since mass layoffs in February, and has stopped engaging with any/all reviews here since around the same time. This, coupled with the lack of HR reach out upon submitting my exit survey (or any follow up about scheduling an official exit interview with an HR representative) paints a clear picture of One Medical in 2024 - a company that no longer strives to be the best for it's patients, practitioners, staff, and community at large, instead existing solely to line the pockets of Trent Green and other C level executives who's commitment to healthcare is questionable at best. There's dozens of other issues I have with One Medical in 2024, but if history has shown us anything, it's that typing them here will simply fall on deaf ears.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. As a clinician myself, I deeply value the perspectives of our team members, especially those who have been with us through significant changes. We hear your concerns about the shifts in our company culture. It's clear that these changes have significantly affected your experience and that of many of your colleagues. We take this feedback very seriously. I want to assure you that we do closely monitor and consider feedback from all sources, including Glassdoor reviews. Your observation about our recent lack of engagement with reviews is noted, and we're working to improve our responsiveness here and through other feedback channels. One Medical mission has always been to provide exceptional care to our patients while supporting our team members, and we remain committed to our core values and the high standards of care that have always defined One Medical. Thank you again for your dedication to patient care and for your contributions to One Medical during your time with us. We value the perspectives of all our team members, past and present, as we as we continuously work to make One Medical a great place to practice primary care. Natasha Bhuyan, MD Vice President, In-Office Care

Vantaggi

Benefits are really good, free One Medical membership, can see any provider outside your office for free. Colleagues at your office are bound to be really nice.

Svantaggi

Absolutely a culture of "passing the buck"- a question of relative simplicity may have to go through three levels of management before you get an answer (if you get an answer). Corporate keeps changing their mind on what your actual duties are. The pendulum will swing really far in one direction, and you'll have to scramble to meet those expectations, and then six months later it will swing wildly in the other direction and things you were told are "mandatory" are now met with "why on Earth are you doing that?" Zero communication between corporate and field team admin- corporate keeps giving new random standard work practices that make no sense and then getting mad when field teams say as much. Company "does not believe in merit-based raises for admin."
