Vantaggi
Working from home. There used to be much more positive but the company is now unrecognizable from what it was just a few years ago.
Svantaggi
Big projects are badly mismanaged, leading to overwork and burnout. Lots of dysfunction and too many people asking for a status. Be prepared to work very hard for no appreciation and an "achieving" rating. Want to learn something, even if it's for your job? Do it on your own time. Everything here has to be billable. The only time they seemed to spend money on training was when they got a state grant for training. The message: when it's the public's money your skills are important to us, but when it's our money you're on your own. Many leaders don't develop or train their people. It's a sink or swim mentality and easier to let someone go than develop them. Layoffs and offshoring are very common practices here now. Company has dreams of being a big public company but has countless manual processes that will never scale the way they dream (ex: getting tasks to bill your time). Most companies with big growth plans streamline and automate. Not this one. Compensation is terrible. Don't just ask about the salary, ask about average increases and bonus opportunities. The only bonus opportunity is an award for going above and beyond. And no, working long hours for weeks on end doesn't necessarily qualify you for a bonus. That's expected of you. Not the same company since it was bought by private equity. Never witnessed a culture torn apart so quickly.
