Vantaggi
They have some great perks including massages, eyebrow waxes, haircuts, free lunch every other Friday and you get to leave early every other Friday. There is enough food and drink that you don't need to worry about breakfast or lunch. Everyone is pretty friendly.
Svantaggi
- All that free food and stuff? They expect you to work till 6-8pm. I ate dinner there reguarly. - Nepotism is strong at this workplace. Most of the people I worked with were there for previous companies that the owners have had. This means they get special treatment and no matter how awful they are, they will not be fired. They might be moved, but never fired. - I hope you like to drink. - The CEO is never really around or at least I didn't see her. - The vision for the company when I was there was unclear. They were trying to do a lot of different things, but when a company is testing out that many avenues for growth, with no success in any, I got very nervous about the future. - You will not get a raise so you better negotiate the best salary you can. After I left I learned they put in a point system of some kind and no one has gotten a raise basically since. - My first manager was amazing and then they were promoted and moved to a different department. The new manager that was put in had no training and was only given the position because they had been in a flat position for the years they had worked there. - If you make a mistake in a project, they will never give another chance. I was thrown into a project when I started and was the third person it was handed to. With no communciation from the client and little direction, I was still able to pull off 80% of the job well. One portion was not done correctly (which I did not know till later when we turned everything over) and I was never trusted again. It was made clear I would never get another project that required more creativity than product descriptions. The reason I left: It was made clear after my project mistake that I would not be promoted or trusted again. But mainly I left because of my new manager who had no training. Every day I went in fearful I was going to be fired. I still have what I refer to as light PTSD symptoms from my 1:1's with this person. Every 1:1 I had it was implied that I would be fired soon or we talked about everything I have ever done wrong at the company. Mistakes I had made when I had first started were brought up regularly and every single week. Additonally I was once asked about my mental health and if I was seeing a psychiatrist . I felt mentally abused and quickly found another position. Once I put in my two weeks, I was asked to leave immediately so clearly, I was correct that I was not wanted. The manager, I later learned, was taken out of that position a month after I left. If you remember my note from earlier about nepotisim - This person was, you guessed it, moved to another department. I still have great friends from there and learned a lot so I am thankful for my first 6 months there. The end was just brutal to my mental health.
