- Pressure to come in the office during a global pandemic. Multiple people on my team had to "get sent home for being sick". We ARE still in a global pandemic... you should not be coming into the office if you are sick. This was appalling to me. - While leadership is accessible and approachable, the breakdown happens in middle management. - No work/life balance - there is an expectation to work 8 am-midnight and work on the weekends. I had a massive life event that they were aware of before they hired me and completely overworked me up to the day before my event. Additionally, my manager told me that they could make an exception for it, but "we usually only take off one week total a quarter" ... Look at what they claim their company benefits to be - it's a "flexible PTO policy". - During my time there at a company of a little over 100 people, multiple people were fired. They also raised a series B so it isn't a COVID issue, usually, start-ups would try to invest in the people they hired not just immediately fire them. One person was only there for one day... ONE DAY! I've never seen that before. -Nepotism - Using the "we are a startup" mentality to overwork employees - Obbessive complusive nature to work. Don't get me wrong, it's important to pay attention to detail, but middle management is extremely invasive and controlling taking micromanaging to a level I have never seen before that didn't advance any process or make things better. Rather it caused unnecessary additional stress, provided a terrible example of how to work to young employees, and frustrated other departments that had to work with my department. - Focus on the wrong things - GOSSIP runs wild - ZERO diversity
