Vantaggi

A fantastic place to kickstart your IT career, surrounded by a team of passionate and talented professionals who truly love what they do. The social benefits are top-notch — think a well-equipped office, lively company parties, and perks like medical coverage, massages, and a Multisport card.

Svantaggi

Honestly I don’t know what’s more depressing — the behavior and incompetence of the Chinese branch or the Polish one trying to match (or outdo) them while thinking they’re the best. Upper management seems to believe nine women can deliver a baby in a month. They also think employees would rather get a handshake and a pat on the back than fair compensation. That’s joke number one. Fair enough, the compensation isn’t terrible — but it could be better. The company is aware they pay lower than most IT market, but they hope to make up for it with “social benefits”. I personally couldn’t care less about free sandwiches — just give me the money so I can buy my own sandwich or better yet — spend it however I want. That’s joke number two. The company also seems to think 10 PLN raise is reasonable and 200 PLN is life changing. So instead of appreciating and investing in their existing employees they rather hire new ones — sometimes at half the rate or double the rate of the current staff proving the budget is “agile”. This results in endless onboarding and basic maintenance instead of actual development and real improvements. That’s two more jokes right there. Issuing an employment contract is an afterthought. Preparing the contract ahead of time? Not a priority. New hires are often left without contract for a week or two and are told it’s “almost ready”. Sometimes after those two weeks the company decides they changed their mind and there won’t be a contract after all. Everything I wrote here is from my own experience or from people I trust from six different engineering teams. And from what I hear it’s even worse for interns, part-timers and students who once saw a future here. So based on the number of jokes I’d say this is a funny workplace — perfect for either starting your IT career or ending it. As for me, I left because I saw zero opportunities for my own development and frankly I couldn’t look myself in the mirror knowing I worked for a company that treats lower level employees this way. Paraphrasing the classic (of course this does not apply to everyone) - you either leave as an decent person and engineer or stay long enough to become manager.

Vantaggi

Truly international in scope and reach, with a mostly HR-centric culture that values employees and delivers management training and feedback well. Nice offices, especially in Norway, and a collaborative and open culture with very little finger-pointing. Lots to do, and many resources with which to do it.

Svantaggi

Sometimes a little too European and slow-moving, particularly with regard to setting a direction and sticking to it and/or not shedding unpromising programs or projects quickly enough.
