Friendly atmosphere, but poor management and work-life balance - Recensione dipendente - Dipendente anonimo presso Optima

Optima is an amazing company from the people, to the benefits, and of course, their products. Optima makes beautiful buildings. I feel proud to work for a company that cares about it's people and the environment.

I can't think of any.

Wage was fair, pretty location.

By far one of the most toxic work environments I have ever worked in. Absolutely no collaboration. Granted, one architect is allowed to meet with the president during their 6-8 hour meetings (daily sometimes for weeks on end). After the meetings take place, the architect relays the tasks to the other architects and the cycle repeats. If you don't come in at 8am, the president gets personally upset, but don't worry if you're on the finance team, this only applies to the architects. On top of all of this, you will be able to hear the president completely berate his architects on the daily, and everyone will act like this is the norm; because it is. Additionally, there is absolutely no room for growth as this is a completely top-down structured firm. This is not an environment where imperfections are accepted, much less where patience is applauded.
