Great people, lots of varied work, great experience building, fantastic if you enjoy a challenge. Some great Team Leaders working in IT support, shielding you from irrelevant political nonsense, and encouraging you with your career, as it should be.

1st line IT takes the hit on failed projects, can get frustrating when end-users vent and blame you as "IT". You are worked hard, there is not much room to come up to breathe, which can be a negative.

Good people by and large. Interesting business and lots of opportunity to get experience if you slog for it.

Poor leadership in tech - focus on gadgets and fads, core tech is creaking. No real training/development support from HR - focus is on salespeople really. Gap between executive management and teams on the ground is huge, especially in IT. Unfortunately, it's who you know not what you know. Lots of travel required - work life balance is tough.
