The technical team members I get to work with are very friendly, eager to help, and very intelligent. I really enjoy learning and working with them. Remote culture is great, they (reasonably) ask to dress nice on camera in front of clients and always have your camera on in internal meetings. The standard Macbook pro (16 inch) for every employee is amazing. Diversity is improving. The company mostly employs men across most roles and hasn't done a great job until recently integrating women into technical roles. There is more room to grow and they are trying. You can grow into your role or expand to another one. I have seen many consultants expand their technical and non-technical skills to transition to other roles they were interested in. The culture is very focused on providing great client service and helping others learn and grow. Our company focuses a lot on training our clients to learn cloud technologies and they practice it internally to a fault. The company has funded lots of technical certifications for employees and asks consultants to earn them. Travel opportunities are great. If you work with a client that is not located near the home office you can expect at least one trip to them. The company pays for employees to trave

Work life balance isn't good - depending on your role and project. Management regularly puts a positive spin on why employees have to put in frequent after-hours and weekend responsibilities for clients. There have been many attempts to alleviate concerns but little follow-through as managers are often pulled in to help other clients. We could use down days away from clients - something many organizations practice. Not a lot of growth outside of your project and expect to be asked to help the company win or support other projects - on top of your current obligations. They prefer to hire for new positions rather than help consultants transfer around. The exception here is where projects are running to a close. You have to fight to move if you have been around for a year or more. Because the company is still small (< 50 people) your manager is often the same person running your project. This is a major conflict of interest if you have issues on your project but can't talk to anyone else. Many consulting firms have the scale to avoid this and I think Oteemo could do better here. The company does not practice half of the federal holidays and most of their projects are for government clients who are closed on those days. They put a positive spin on this but it is a real loss of holidays that are standard across the industry in government consulting. No sick days separate from vacation days. You have to use vacation time off for sick days. Many companies separate the two. If you get lucky your manager may let you keep the vacation day. Training and equipment budgets aren't very transparent and sometimes the $300 equipment budget isn't enough for more than a decent monitor.
