Svantaggi
Lacking sufficient staff numbers in all areas of the business; as a consequence of the owner's unrealistic expectations leading to managers being unable to manage people and staff struggling to perform due to not having time and space to do a good job. Constant profit driven pressure flowing down from the board (owner) with regular redundancy and restructure announcements being the norm. High staff turnover in all areas, particularly clinicians. Several subsidiary businesses, all of which lack the investment to help them thrive and grow, resulting in unrealistic growth targets and constant churn of senior management and businesses not meeting targets. Lack of investment in areas of need i.e. the IT system which looks glamorous on the outside but behind the scenes is nowhere near sufficient, leading to constant work arounds being required resulting in difficulties and pressure for client service staff and clinicians who use the system. Very toxic culture resulting from owner's approach to managing staff and the business. I'm purposely refraining from describing the owner too much - other reviews have done that quite well. However, he is fundamentally PAM Group's biggest problem. He can be commended for growing the business between 2000 and 2020 but once a business gets to a certain size (and especially in this new world) it needs to rely on high caliber people, trust them to make decisions and give them room to thrive. Unfortuntely, in my opinion, the owner is incapable of doing that.
