As a seasoned nursing professional with decades of experience, I regret to share that my time at PAm has been the most challenging in my career. The management structure is inadequate, leading to a lack of professionalism and organization that permeates the workplace. Nurses are burdened with an overwhelming number of roles and responsibilities, which often extend beyond patient care. For instance, we were instructed to handle tasks such as taking out garbage and doing laundry in patients' rooms—duties that detract from our primary focus on patient health and safety. Moreover, the culture of blame is pervasive; nurses are often held accountable for issues outside of our control, from errors made by the in-house pharmacy to the high turnover rates of CNAs. This blame game fosters a negative work environment where appreciation is scarce, and morale suffers. Staffing shortages are a chronic issue, resulting in dangerously high patient-to-staff ratios. This not only compromises the quality of care provided but also places the licenses and professional reputations of health care workers at risk. In summary, I cannot recommend [Facility Name] to fellow health care professionals. The systemic issues present here pose significant challenges that ultimately affect both staff and patient care. I hope for improvements in the future, but as it stands, this facility is not a safe or supportive environment for nursing professionals.
