At the time I was at PC Direct there was a good core group of technically skilled technicians and enthusiastic sales people. Products were good for the price and region.

Management was terrible at hiring, would force people into positions they did no want or were unqualified for. Owner was a greed Chinese expat who treated his worker in Indiana life there were a billion replacements just like in China. No technical or on the job training. in the just over a year I was there they had 3 - 4 store manager and about as many assistant managers. Non-existant paid time off and tech get cheated on promised performance based bonuses.

Generally, the technicians were fairly knowledgeable, at least compared to other retail computer repair places.

Basically no paid time off. You earn 1 day every year up to a maximum of 3. Yes, your maximum you can earn is 3 DAYS of paid time off per year. There is basically no unpaid time off and very limited schedule flexibility, as they staff the store quite thin. The largest problem is the owner, Johnny Zhu. He acts unethically and abusively towards employees, especially his management team and technicians. Both of those positions experience very high turnover. He also expects his managers to act in the same way towards other employees. The general atmosphere is one of paranoia and abuse. I would highly recommend against taking any position at this store.
