Programs are well-run and effective. Teams are close-knit and supported by leadership. Excellent benefits and work-life balance are the icing on the cake.

The volume of work is high

City benefits: pension, excellent and affordable health insurance. Large organization with opportunities to move departments and positions. High-impact work that truly makes Philadelphia a stronger, healthier, and more beautiful city. 37-hour work week with lots of holidays and no expectation to work overtime (depending on the department).

It felt like sink or swim when I first joined; no procedures to follow and little training. Not as much vacation time as other government agencies.
