Pros: Very good benefits - comprehensive healthcare plan, passion course tuition reimbursement, exercise incentives, very high 401k match, and more Friendly employees - Everyone on my team (minus my passive-aggressive manager) was very friendly and willing to help. You could randomly reach out to others within the company with questions and still receive assistance Training - Pretty comprehensive 6 week training program. Should definitely be a more hands-on training course but the staff who handle those 6 weeks are extremely good

Cons: Workload - Workload is insane for a company that constantly states how much it "values work life balance". After speaking with numerous other employees, I was hard-pressed to find anyone who didn't start nearly an hour or more early each day; while also working past their ending schedule Unrealistic expectations: I consistently worked 12 hour days with 10-15 minute lunches and I still could not keep up with the metrics I was supposed to be hitting. The Member Advocates are expected to hit extremely hard metrics and it was broadcasted to my entire team when you were not. Management ideology/Understaffed problems: Management tended to have the idea that if you weren't hitting your metrics, it was because you couldn't manage your time effectively. When it was clear on a day to day basis that the reason a lot of MA's were struggling was because we were understaffed. Company Ideology: PURE constantly pushes the idea that they are a "different" insurance company because they don't "churn and burn" their clientele. However, with the workload that is pushed onto the Member Advocates, it's impossible to provide the extra care and time that leadership expects. In addition to that, many of PURE's clientele seem to fall into the category of expecting expedited service because of their financial positions.

One of the hardest lessons I learned early in my career was that not every workplace is healthy, and that toxicity can become normalized when leadership and HR reinforce it. Employees were routinely gaslit into working long hours for minimal pay, taking on excessive workloads due to chronic understaffing, and overcompensating simply to stay afloat. Any attempt to set reasonable boundaries was met with reprimand, pressure, bullying, or eventual push-out (which appears to be the default approach). With the current leadership, this culture is unlikely to change, and it’s unclear whether that is a concern at all. PURE’s culture offers only two paths: full, unquestioning compliance (regardless of personal cost) or being quietly pushed out. I chose self-respect over compliance, rebuilt my confidence in the workplace, and found a company whose leadership genuinely recognizes, appreciates, and celebrates my success. I promise, you can too!!!
