Vantaggi

Competitive benefits, flexibility if you know how to negotiate, lots of room for growth. Management works with you when life happens and you need to be out of the office.

Svantaggi

Micromanaging workplace, they push push PUSH you to always do more. The burnout is insane. In my 3 years there, more than 40 recruiters quit. If you have recruiting experience, you seem to last longer, but if you are new, this is the place to get started and move on to a better paying job with less stress. If you see the other half of the office and they say it's for "expanding", yeah, they've been in that space for years, and say that at every interview. The turnover is simply too high to ever grow into the space. Ask for work from home benefits, and negotiate a higher rate than what they first offer, no matter what position you are applying for. Just because you have been with the company for years does not exclude you from being put on a PIP when a pandemic happens and numbers start to tank, so you feel like you have to watch you back, and job, constantly. They do not give cost of living raises, you have to fight for any raise you do get. Weekly, you will meet with one of the partners that own the company for a check in. This starts off nice, they can fix issues easily, but quickly becomes overbearing. Can't get a placement quickly enough? What could you have done better. Any issue outside your control becomes YOUR issue you should have predicted with your crystal ball and you have to give a weekly status update on how every aspect of your job is going. Notes are taken. You are asked about progress the next week, if not sooner.

Thank you for your review. I want to take this opportunity to address a lot of the review as this person was on our administrative team and is commenting about a lot of things from our management team and recruiting teams of which she was not member. With regards to her comment about micromanagement it is just false. One of our core values is accountability and we are proud of that and tell everyone in the interview process that we have an accountable organization. Micromanagement is when you meet several times a day about the same thing, we only meet once a week, and you are either on track or off. If you are off, we identify, discuss and solve the problem. One of the big reasons why we are growing on average of 30% a year is because we are all accountable to our teammates, clients and physicians we work with. If you are reading this review and you are not accountable...than Pacific Companies would not be a good fit. As far as the expanding comment.... that is misleading as well. She is correct that we have not filled our CA office space as quick as we would like, but there are several factors that are not mentioned First, we have strategically decided to grow our Dallas office and we have done a lot of our hiring and expansion there including a new office that triple the size of our old office. Secondly, as she mentioned we are just coming out of a global pandemic in which much of the staffing industry suffered 30-50% losses (and we did not). To say we are not growing is false as we just hired several new people and was just awarded for a 6th year in a row the INC 5000 fastest growing companies. The reviewers 'comments about PIPS, turnover and compensation is somewhat true but needs a lot of context that she would not have as she was not on our management or recruiting teams. As we have said in many of our past responses, we do believe in process improvement plans and we have had many of our recruiters and sales staff who have been on one and are now top performers. This reviewer has never been a recruiter or salesperson and doesn’t understand that all good companies have PIPS for non-performers. The bad companies that don’t care just fire you with no PIP. We genuinely care about people and want to see them improve instead of drowning. I am surprised by this comment as the reviewer is accountable and was never on a PIP. I think it more hear say from recruiters (friends) that were upset that they were terminated for poor performance. What the reviewer does not know is that we give recruiters/sales staff at least 90 days to improve and in many cases more if they are putting in the work to improve. The last thing we want to do is spend a ton of time training and money on a candidate just to turn around and let them go. At the same time, I personally would not want to work for a company that tolerated poor performance. I understand that she is looking at it from a friend's point of view...but if she were the EVP of that division and the person didn’t have any placements for 3- 6 months.... what would she do? Without performance and profit a company will go out of business and then everyone will lose their job. Yes...we have turnover and so does every other staffing firm in the world. Staffing is a tough business, and it is not for most people. Our turnover is no more than any other company...actually it’s a lot less. A lot of people want to get into staffing because of the income potential but then discover that is not the job for them. Conversely, we have many people that have been with us for many years and will never leave. We would not consistently win best places to work (incluing two this year)and fastest growing if we were a bad company. Having said that, there will always be people that will decide that they want to take a different path including this reviewer and that is ok and we wish her all the best. The compensation part is misleading as well as she is looking at it from an admin position instead of a sales/recruiter position. This person as stated was given raises, but I am sure her recruiting friends said they didn’t get one. In a sales position/ recruiter position you can give yourself a raise everyday thorough commission. We have many of our recruiters making in the top 1-10% of income in the country. Again...she wouldn’t be privy to that information as she wasn’t on the team that she is commenting on. If you are reading this review and you want to be a part of a team that is accountable, driven and team focused with excellent income potential....than I encourage you to reach out to learn more about us first hand. Pacific Companies is an extremely transparent organization, and we would be happy to answer any question you may have.
