I wasn’t 100% sure about Sales until Anthony at Pareto realized my potential, based on my LinkedIn profile. I had a few screening calls and was selected to attend an assessment day. Dan, Stephen, and Anthony were really helpful guiding me through the process. On assessment day there was 22 candidates competing for 3 BDR openings. I was honestly very nervous but it wasn’t as bad as I imagined. We did introductions, group activities (debate and collaboration), then a 3min pitch. Although, I didn’t get the job, the Pareto team kept me in the loop and set me up with another Boston company. I really appreciated their commitment to finding me a full-time opportunity, but I ended up taking a job at a company unaffiliated with Pareto Law. Without the intense interview process, coaching, and feedback that Pareto provided I don’t know if I would have gotten the competitive position I accepted. It is brutal out there trying to find a job as a recent graduate during COVID-19 and these guys set you up for success!

You have to have the stomach for an interview process like this and be open to feedback. If your going into sales you should have these qualities anyways. The process was also very long for a low statistical chance of being selected. I was first told there would be 16 candidates and 4 positions which made sense with their name Pareto Law (80/20). On assessment day I was surprised that there were 22 (maybe 26?) candidates and 3 position openings. In the end this was a little annoying but my overall experience was great and it did lead to me getting a job somewhere. There is no doubt in my mind that if I had stayed with Pareto they would have found me a full-time position.
