The mission. Everyday you get to help the next generation of (primarily) computer scientists , find meaningful careers, and feel empowered in the job search. The team is incredible. A very talented and passionate group of advisors, who all happen to have some very impressive backgrounds (Google, MSFT, Facebook, GitHub, early DocuSign engineer and manager etc.). Everyone on the team could making a lot more money at a later stage company, but they aren't really here for the money, they are here for the fellows and I think that is something special about the company. It's the first time I've been at a company that is slightly before it's time. The ISA and invested mentoring is still pretty new, and still gets a lot of questions, but it works, and definitely gets the most push back from those that want to maintain a status quo where access is given to a small group of people with similar backgrounds. It's kind of fun to do something that feels unfamiliar to most. Relatively flexible work environment, remote friendly, and lunch in the office most days.

A lot of the hours for Advisors and Partners are untraditional because we work primarily with college students or folks that are employed. So some night and weekend hours. You really need to block off time for yourself, or you could find yourself mentoring all day. I do think the leadership is aware of this though, and relatively understanding of the sacrifice employees make to ensure the best outcomes for our fellows.
